The Lung delgi Archibusieri

Many of the oldest streets in Florence are round about the Uffizi Palace -- the Borgo Santi Apostoli, the Via delle Carozze, Via Por Santa Maria, with the Mercato Nuovo and the Lung' Arno degli Archibusieri. The last-mentioned is reputed to be the oldest street in the town. It faces a colonnade built on the river embankment, above which runs the covered gallery whence the granddukes once obtained access to the Uffizi from the Pitti Palace
