Salzburg
This city has got what it takes for an inspiring break — architectural gems, music performances, great food. And then, says Vitali Vitaliev, there’s Mozart...

Why go?
Salzburg is one of the gems of central Europe, offering an inspiring mix of mountain views and historic monuments. Ruled for centuries by independent Catholic prince archbishops the city boasts some outstanding examples of baroque and Romanesque architecture. It is also the birthplace of Mozart, whose memory is preserved in several museums and through regular musical events.
