Along
with the resort of Pernera, Protaras occupies the farthest south-eastern corner
of Cyprus accessible to visitors. It’s a purpose-built family resort,
quieter than Ayia Napa, and specialising in getting the maximum of holiday fun
out of sun, sea and sand. Along this ruggedly beautiful stretch of coastline
there used to be nothing except a few fishing harbours and some little country
churches.
